Ashtead Engineering Accelerates Delivery Times Following Investment in New CMZ CNC Lathe
By Clinton Perry
Ashtead Engineering Company Limited has significantly increased its production capacity and reduced lead times following the installation of a new CMZ TA-20 CNC lathe.
During a recent visit by MTDCNC’s Clinton Perry, the Ashtead Engineering team showcased the latest addition to their machine shop as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to growth, efficiency, and customer service.

Nicholas Harvey, representing Ashtead Engineering, highlighted the impact the new machine has already had on operations. Delivered a full month ahead of schedule, the CMZ TA-20 enabled the company to successfully meet the demands of a challenging defence sector project while dramatically improving production efficiency.
“The early delivery of the machine made a significant difference,” explained Harvey. “Not only did it help us fulfil a critical defence contract, but it has also enabled us to reduce delivery times by as much as two months on certain projects.”

Compact in footprint but powerful in capability, the CMZ TA-20 has quickly become an important asset within the business, supporting Ashtead Engineering’s continued expansion and ability to respond to customer requirements faster than ever before.
The investment reflects Ashtead Engineering’s strategy of embracing advanced manufacturing technology to enhance productivity, improve responsiveness, and support long-term growth.
MTDCNC would like to thank Nicholas Harvey and the entire Ashtead Engineering team for their hospitality during the visit, as well as Steve Maddy, Alistair Macdonald, and Lee Rodgers from CMZ for their support and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service throughout the project.
A full video feature showcasing the installation and its impact on the business will be released soon on MTDCNC’s channels.
