Back in March, MTDCNC visited Gütersloh, Germany, for the opening of DN Solutions’ new Additive Solutions Centre Europe, a facility dedicated to integrating additive and subtractive manufacturing technologies into one connected production environment.

Now, only months later, DN Solutions has announced a new partnership with defence specialist LDAS, supplying systems for metal 3D printing and downstream machining as part of its growing AM2CNC strategy.

Rather than treating additive manufacturing as a standalone process, DN Solutions continues to focus on combining metal 3D printing with CNC machining, inspection and quality assurance to create a complete production workflow capable of delivering finished components ready for demanding industrial applications.

The strategy addresses one of the biggest challenges in industrial metal additive manufacturing. While additive processes offer incredible geometric freedom and design flexibility, many components still require highly accurate post-processing for functional surfaces, fits, threads and critical tolerances.

By integrating machining and additive manufacturing together, DN Solutions enables manufacturers to produce near-net-shape parts before bringing them to final dimensional accuracy through milling, turning and secondary finishing processes.

The latest agreement with LDAS highlights the growing importance of these hybrid manufacturing technologies within safety-critical sectors such as defence, where repeatability, process stability and shorter development cycles are essential.

LDAS plans to use the DN Solutions systems for both prototype development and production manufacturing, particularly for complex components where additive manufacturing can reduce assembly requirements and create internal geometries difficult to achieve conventionally.

During MTDCNC’s visit to the new Additive Solutions Centre Europe, the emphasis on combining additive and subtractive technologies was clear throughout the facility. Demonstrations showcased how printed parts could move seamlessly into machining and finishing operations, creating an efficient and highly flexible manufacturing process.

The centre represents a significant investment by DN Solutions into the future of advanced manufacturing and offers customers the opportunity to explore fully integrated additive production workflows firsthand.
