Jet Tools Expands Lathe Portfolio with Enhanced Safety, Performance and Heavy-Duty Turning Capability!
Jet Tools has expanded its turning machine portfolio with the launch of new gear-head engine lathes and large-spindle bore lathes designed to improve shop productivity, operator safety and machining performance. Engineered for modern manufacturing environments, the latest additions are aimed at helping machine shops, fabrication facilities and industrial operations increase efficiency while maintaining precision and operational reliability.
The newly introduced lathe lineup has been developed to meet the growing demands of manufacturers seeking scalable turning solutions capable of handling both everyday machining tasks and more demanding heavy-duty applications. According to Jet Tools, the machines combine enhanced safety systems, cleaner operation and flexible configurations to support a wide range of production requirements.
The gear-head engine lathes are designed for day-to-day turning applications and offer smooth, controlled machining performance. These machines provide faster stopping capability, improved containment systems and enhanced operational control, allowing operators to work more efficiently and safely during continuous production cycles. Built-in safety mechanisms and simplified operation make the machines suitable for both experienced machinists and training environments.
Jet Tools emphasizes that the lathes are capable of handling larger workpieces without increasing shop-floor complexity. With UL 987 certified electrical safety systems integrated into the machines, manufacturers can benefit from improved workplace safety standards while maintaining dependable machining performance. The company says the combination of productivity and operator-focused design enables shops to maximize output per shift while reducing operational risks.
For more demanding machining applications, Jet Tools has also introduced large-spindle bore lathes engineered for heavy-duty turning operations. These machines feature large spindle bores, rigid cast-iron construction and certified safety systems designed to deliver stability and accuracy during aggressive cutting operations. The robust machine structure enables operators to machine larger stock materials with greater confidence while maintaining precision and control.
The large-spindle bore models offer up to a 4.5-inch spindle bore capacity, making them suitable for industries requiring the machining of oversized components and heavy materials. Select geared-head models are also equipped with a 2-inch spindle bore, expanding machining flexibility across different shop applications.
A major focus across the new Jet lathe lineup is operator safety and cleaner shop operation. Standard safety equipment includes a foot brake for rapid stopping, chuck guards, lead screw covers and the Jet Safety E-Chuck key holder system, which helps minimize preventable operator errors. These features are intended to improve workplace safety while ensuring smooth and uninterrupted machining operations.
To support cleaner and more organized production environments, the machines also include splash guards and chip trays that help contain chips and coolant during operation. This reduces cleanup time, improves shop-floor organization and contributes to a more efficient workflow.
The lathes are equipped with standard coolant systems designed to support longer machining cycles, improve tool life and deliver more consistent surface finishes. In addition, Jet Tools offers optional upgrades such as collet closers, taper attachments and digital readout packages from Acu-Rite and Newall, allowing manufacturers to customize the machines for specific production requirements.
According to Guna Sathyamurthy, product manager at Jet Tools, the new machines are designed to provide dependable turning capability while balancing safety, ease of use and productivity. The machines are well-suited for production and job shops, maintenance and repair facilities, fabrication operations, technical training centers and manufacturers upgrading legacy turning equipment.
Jet Tools further supports the new lineup with a two-year warranty, nationwide service coverage and U.S.-based technical support, ensuring customers receive long-term operational assistance and application expertise.
