Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited has strengthened its manufacturing capabilities with a strategic upgrade at its Pakuria facility, commissioning new equipment aimed at improving efficiency, product quality, and responsiveness to growing market demand. The expansion reflects the company’s continued focus on enhancing operational performance while expanding its portfolio of value-added products.

A key part of this development is the installation of two new annealing furnaces, with capacities of 25 metric tonnes per annum and 30 metric tonnes per annum. These furnaces are expected to significantly improve the annealing process by ensuring better temperature control, uniform material properties, and enhanced consistency in output. As a result, the facility will be able to deliver higher-quality products while increasing throughput and operational reliability.

In addition to the furnaces, the company has operationalised a 2300 mm Vertical Foil Separator (LGSS), a critical addition for precision processing. This advanced system enables accurate separation of Ultra-Light Gauge (ULG) and Light Gauge (LG) foil within a thickness range of 6 to 15 microns. The technology is particularly important for producing specialised foil products that require tight tolerances and high levels of precision. By incorporating this system, Shyam Metalics is better positioned to meet evolving customer requirements across industries that demand high-performance, lightweight materials.

Together, these upgrades are expected to enhance process control across the Pakuria unit, enabling more efficient production cycles and improved product uniformity. The integration of advanced equipment also supports better resource utilisation and reduces variability in manufacturing outcomes—key factors in maintaining competitiveness in today’s metals industry.

The investment aligns with the company’s broader strategy of strengthening its manufacturing base through targeted capital expenditure and continuous process improvements. By focusing on both capacity expansion and technological advancement, Shyam Metalics aims to deliver consistent quality while remaining agile in responding to changing market dynamics.

Leadership at the company emphasised that these developments are part of a long-term vision to build robust and scalable operations. The addition of new furnaces and precision separation technology will not only improve current production capabilities but also support future growth by enabling the manufacture of more specialised and higher-value products.

With operations spread across multiple states in India, Shyam Metalics continues to expand its footprint as an integrated metal producer, covering a diverse range of products including long and flat steel, ferro alloys, aluminium, and stainless steel. The latest upgrades at the Pakuria facility reinforce its commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and customer-centric manufacturing in an increasingly competitive global market.
