Mazak Southwest Open House to Spotlight Advanced Machining for Oil & Gas Sector!
Mazak Corporation is set to host its “Discover More with Mazak Southwest” Open House on May 13–14, 2026, at its Technology Center in Houston. The event is aimed at supporting manufacturers preparing for rising demand in the oil and gas industry, offering insights into advanced machining technologies, automation, and process optimization.
The two-day event will feature live cutting demonstrations on Mazak’s latest machine tools, showcasing real-world applications designed to increase throughput, improve process consistency, and reduce setup times. Attendees will gain hands-on exposure to integrated manufacturing solutions tailored specifically for oil and gas component production, where precision, durability, and efficiency are critical.
Mazak will highlight a comprehensive portfolio of machining technologies, including Multi-Tasking turning, vertical machining, and Swiss-type machining. These solutions are engineered to handle tight tolerances and complex geometries commonly required in oil and gas applications.
In the Multi-Tasking category, key machines on display include the QT-Ez 10MY, Integrex i-450 H ST, and HQR-200/3 NEO. The QT-Ez 10MY Turning Center offers milling and Y-axis capabilities for multi-surface machining and will be demonstrated alongside Mazak’s Ez LOADER collaborative robot for automated part handling. The Integrex i-450 H ST enables “Done In One” processing with dual spindles, a milling spindle, and turret configuration, while the HQR-200/3 NEO is designed for high-volume production with multiple turrets and advanced spindle configurations.
Additional turning solutions such as the Slant Turn 550 and Power Master will also be showcased. These machines are built for heavy-duty applications, capable of machining large-diameter and long-shaft components with high torque and stability—key requirements in oil and gas manufacturing.
Mazak’s vertical machining lineup will include the VC-Ez 26 and VC-Ez 20X, both part of the Kentucky-built Ez Series. The VC-Ez 20X, equipped with a 5-axis rotary/tilt table, enables efficient machining of complex parts using 3+2 or full five-axis operations, while the VC-Ez 26 offers reliable performance for a wide range of machining tasks.
For high-volume production of small precision components, Mazak will demonstrate its Syncrex 38/8 Swiss-type machine. With eight axes and high-speed capabilities, the machine is designed to reduce cycle times while maintaining exceptional accuracy, making it ideal for intricate parts used in demanding industrial applications.
All machines featured at the event are supported by Mazak’s MPower Complete Customer Care program, providing comprehensive service and support. Additionally, Mazak Capital Equipment Financing (MCEF) offers flexible, factory-direct financing options, enabling manufacturers to invest in advanced technologies with greater ease.
Overall, the open house reflects Mazak’s commitment to helping manufacturers stay competitive by leveraging advanced machining, automation, and integrated solutions. As the oil and gas sector gears up for increased activity, the event provides a valuable platform for industry professionals to explore technologies that enhance productivity, precision, and operational efficiency.
