Getzner Werkstoffe Expands India Presence with New Manufacturing Facility in Baramati!
Getzner Werkstoffe has inaugurated a new production facility in Baramati, marking a key milestone in its international expansion strategy and strengthening its footprint in India’s rapidly growing rail and transit sector. The move enhances the company’s local manufacturing capabilities while enabling faster response times and closer collaboration with customers.
The new plant spans 4,189 square meters and is dedicated to manufacturing advanced vibration isolation solutions tailored for rail infrastructure projects. This development aligns with India’s Make in India initiative, reinforcing the push toward localised production and reduced dependence on imports in critical infrastructure segments.
Getzner has been active in India for more than a decade, having established its subsidiary in Pune in 2009. The Baramati facility builds on this foundation by bringing production closer to key project sites, improving delivery timelines and operational efficiency. Local manufacturing will also allow the company to better customise its solutions to meet the specific requirements of Indian rail and urban transit systems.
The company’s technologies are already playing a vital role in major infrastructure developments, including the Agra Metro. In this project, Getzner’s mass-spring systems are used to reduce vibrations and structure-borne noise, particularly in sensitive areas near landmarks such as the Taj Mahal. With the new facility in place, the company is well positioned to expand its contribution to similar high-profile urban mobility projects across the country.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior leadership, including Jürgen Rainalter and Roger Höfle, along with key stakeholders from industry and government. Their presence highlighted the strategic importance of India within Getzner’s global growth plans.
The Baramati plant also represents Getzner’s second production facility in Asia, complementing its existing site in Kunshan, China. This expansion reflects the company’s commitment to building a strong regional manufacturing network capable of supporting large-scale infrastructure projects.
Overall, the new facility underscores Getzner Werkstoffe’s long-term commitment to India, positioning the company to play a greater role in the development of sustainable, high-performance rail and transit infrastructure.
