Power Solutions International Inc. acquires MTL Manufacturing & Equipment Inc.!

Power Solutions International Inc., a manufacturer of alternative fuel and conventional power systems headquartered in Wood Dale, Illinois, has announced the acquisition of MTL Manufacturing & Equipment Inc., a metal and steel fabrication company based in Beloit, Wisconsin. The acquisition strengthens Power Solutions International’s manufacturing capabilities and expands its capacity to support large-scale power generation applications.

MTL Manufacturing & Equipment specializes in engineering and producing fabricated metal components used in power generation systems. The company manufactures products such as switchgear subbases, electrical enclosure assemblies and fuel tanks designed for high-power equipment installations. These components are widely used in large power generation applications, including infrastructure supporting data centers and other critical power systems.

With this acquisition, Power Solutions International gains access to MTL’s advanced fabrication capabilities. The company’s operations include welding, automated laser cutting, bending and forming as well as industrial painting processes. These capabilities enable the production of complex metal assemblies designed for demanding industrial environments.

MTL operates two manufacturing facilities in Beloit that together provide more than 185,000 square feet of production space. The facilities are equipped to support high-volume manufacturing while maintaining strict quality and safety standards required for power generation equipment.

The company also maintains several industry certifications that demonstrate compliance with recognized safety and performance standards. These include UL142 certification for steel aboveground storage tanks, ULC S601 certification for fuel tanks in Canada and UL2085 certification for protected aboveground storage tank systems. These certifications are important for equipment used in critical infrastructure such as energy systems and data center power generation.

By integrating MTL Manufacturing & Equipment into its operations, Power Solutions International aims to strengthen its supply chain and improve vertical integration within its manufacturing processes.
