Axil Climbs FT1000 Ranking Among Europe’s Fastest-Growing Companies
Axil, a UK leader in total waste and resource management, has been named one of the fastest-growing UK companies in the FT 1000: Europe’s Fastest-Growing Companies 2026, published by The Financial Times in partnership with Statista.
Now in its tenth year, the FT 1000 highlights 1,000 of Europe’s most dynamic businesses, celebrating exceptional performance and sustained revenue growth.
This is Axil’s second consecutive year on the list, with its inclusion driven by strong compound annual revenue growth (CAGR) between 2021 and 2024. The recognition reflects the company’s fast, sustainable, organic expansion, driven by its tech led, innovative, consultative approach.
France, Germany, the UK and Italy account for 75% of companies listed, and Axil has climbed 175 places. It remains one of only a handful of UK waste management and recycling businesses to feature.
Re-engineering Waste Since 2018
Since 2018, Axil has grown from 30 to 300 employees and reached £50m revenue. Serving major UK and international brands, including CBRE, Beko Europe, LEVC, BMW Group, and The Royal Mint, Axil delivers tailored solutions for large manufacturing and critical services with complex waste streams.
Consultative, Total Resource Management
Axil is a disruptor in the sector, specialising in waste prevention, segregation, recycling, and resource recovery. Its solutions reduce costs, emissions, safety risks, and environmental impact from waste disposal. Increasing waste complexity, resource scarcity, rising disposal costs, and tighter regulatory scrutiny mean innovative and responsible providers like Axil are well positioned to grow and accelerate positive environmental impact.
To deliver high service levels and measurable sustainability outcomes, Axil places both equipment and operatives on-site with customers, enabling real-time optimisation, operational control, and total resource management.
Paul Jezzard, CFO: “Being recognised for the second year in a row by the Financial Times highlights not just our growth, but the dedication of our team and the trust of our customers. With the Towerbrook partnership now one year in, we’ve strengthened our capacity to scale sustainably, innovate faster, and deliver market-leading waste solutions across complex manufacturing and industrial sites. Axil isn’t just managing waste, we’re transforming it into opportunity.
Andrew Barnes, GM at Birmingham Wholesale Market: We operate a bespoke system at Birmingham Wholesale Market, managing waste across the estate, from collection and processing to securing the best rebates for recyclables. Axil brings real integrity; when they commit, they deliver to a high standard. Six years on, those original relationships remain strong, underpinning contract extensions and our shared sustainability and safety goals.’
Innovation & Sustainability at the Core
Axil combines operational expertise, data intelligence, and tailored solutions to help businesses achieve sustainability goals while reducing costs. The company treats waste as a resource, turning complex waste streams into actionable opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, and environmental improvement.
Axil’s data portal delivers clear, actionable sustainability insights through simple reporting parameters. However, data alone is not enough. Axil works with customers to interpret the data, set objectives, and implement initiatives that reduce costs, lower emissions, increase recycling, and improve operational efficiency. By linking insight to action, Axil ensures every initiative drives measurable environmental and commercial impact.
Axil is a UK leader in waste consultancy and total resource management, transforming how businesses handle complex waste streams. Its consultative, hands-on approach delivers practical, sustainable solutions while maximising value, reducing environmental impact, and driving operational efficiency across large manufacturing and industrial sites.
