
Methods Machine Tools Inc. names Jon Casten vice president of aftermarket!
Methods Machine Tools Inc., a leading North American supplier of precision machine tools and automation solutions, has appointed Jon Casten as vice president of aftermarket. The move reflects the company’s continued focus on strengthening post-sales support and expanding lifecycle value for customers across its installed base.
Casten brings more than 25 years of experience in leading post-sales strategy, commercialization and service transformation initiatives. In his new role, he will oversee Methods’ comprehensive aftermarket operations, including technical service, parts, warranty programs and customer support. His responsibilities will also extend to managing national and field-based service teams as well as the company’s national parts distribution network.
Casten expressed enthusiasm about joining the organization at a critical growth stage. He highlighted Methods’ reputation for delivering high-performance machine tool solutions and emphasized the opportunity to enhance the company’s aftermarket platform. With a substantial installed base of machine tools across North America, he noted the importance of strengthening service models to maximize uptime, optimize equipment performance and deliver greater long-term value to customers.
Rick Alton, chief executive officer of Methods, stated that Casten brings extensive leadership expertise in building unified strategies that integrate aftermarket initiatives, service excellence and digital transformation. According to Alton, Casten has a proven track record of improving customer uptime, driving operational efficiencies and identifying new growth opportunities while building accountable, high-performing teams.
Before joining Methods, Casten held executive aftermarket-services roles for 15 years, most recently at Terex Corp. and Diploma PLC. During his tenure, he led multisite parts, service and distribution organizations, increasing on-time delivery performance to more than 98 percent through process modernization and disciplined KPI management. He also improved customer retention rates by more than 65 percent, demonstrating measurable impact in service-led revenue growth.
Methods Machine Tools supports a broad portfolio of CNC machining centers and automation systems, including products from FANUC, Nakamura-Tome, YASDA, OKK, KIWA Japan and Weiler, in addition to its own branded machining centers. The company also imports OEM spare parts, distributes them from five national parts depots and provides customer support through seven U.S. technical centers, along with 24/7 assistance via a U.S.-based call center.
With Casten’s appointment, Methods aims to reinforce its aftermarket capabilities as a strategic growth pillar, focusing on uptime optimization, responsive service delivery and long-term customer engagement in an increasingly competitive manufacturing environment.
