Schmalz India welcomed a delegation from the Handwerkskammer Stuttgart Region to its Pune manufacturing facility as part of an official business development visit to India from February 7–13, 2026. The tour was organized on behalf of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to support small and medium-sized enterprises in identifying strategic growth opportunities within the Indian market.

The visiting delegation included craft business professionals representing sectors such as metal construction, high-end interior design and the construction industry. During the visit, participants received an in-depth overview of Schmalz India’s advanced production capabilities and technology-driven solutions designed to enhance productivity, workplace safety and sustainability.

A major focus of the visit was Schmalz’s vacuum automation solutions, which streamline material handling processes and significantly reduce manual intervention. These systems are engineered to improve operational efficiency across manufacturing and construction environments while maintaining precision and reliability.

The delegation also explored ergonomic handling technologies developed to reduce physical strain in demanding work environments. These solutions are designed to support worker wellbeing, minimize injury risks and increase productivity — factors that are particularly relevant for craft enterprises facing skilled labor shortages and stricter safety standards.

In addition, Schmalz showcased its precision clamping systems used in metal processing and construction applications. These systems are built to meet rigorous industrial requirements and reflect the combination of German engineering standards with localized Indian manufacturing expertise.

The tour included demonstrations of advanced robotics and automation solutions that integrate automation with ergonomic principles. These technologies enable businesses to improve output while safeguarding employee health and reducing repetitive or physically intensive tasks.

Beyond technical presentations, the visit facilitated meaningful dialogue on potential collaboration. Delegates explored opportunities in sourcing, technical partnerships and talent development with Indian counterparts. The exchange highlighted how German engineering approaches can be successfully implemented within India’s growing manufacturing ecosystem, supported by Schmalz India’s infrastructure and local capabilities.

The engagement underscores Schmalz’s broader commitment to fostering international cooperation and responsible industrial growth. By combining innovation, quality and sustainability, Schmalz continues to position itself as a strategic partner for enterprises seeking expansion in dynamic global markets.
