Stallion India Fluorochemicals Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan to establish a Hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) manufacturing facility at Bhilwara (Hurda), Rajasthan. The proposed project is part of the company’s broader capacity expansion strategy and marks a significant step in strengthening its portfolio of next-generation refrigerant solutions.

Under the agreement, SIFL plans to invest approximately ₹200 crore in the development of the HFO plant. Groundwork for the facility is expected to begin in 2027. The move reflects the company’s intention to scale up domestic production capabilities in advanced fluorochemicals while aligning with global trends toward low-global-warming-potential refrigerants.

Hydrofluoroolefins are increasingly viewed as a sustainable alternative to conventional refrigerants due to their significantly lower global warming potential. As environmental regulations tighten worldwide and industries transition toward climate-friendly cooling solutions, HFO production capacity is emerging as a strategic growth area. By entering this segment, Stallion aims to strengthen its long-term competitive position and broaden its product offering across refrigeration and air-conditioning markets.

Commenting on the development, Shazad Rustomji, Managing Director and CEO, described the MoU as a key milestone in the company’s expansion roadmap. He emphasized that the HFO initiative complements Stallion’s phased and disciplined growth strategy. The company’s R32 project is scheduled for commissioning by October 2026, after which the HFO manufacturing project will move forward. This sequential approach is aligned with internal capital allocation plans and long-term revenue targets.

Rustomji further noted that, supported by these capacity expansion initiatives, Stallion remains confident of achieving a revenue compound annual growth rate of 30–35 percent over the next three years. The company also aims to strengthen India’s domestic manufacturing ecosystem in specialty chemicals and fluorochemicals, contributing to the country’s self-reliance objectives while delivering sustained value to stakeholders.

Founded in 2002, Stallion India Fluorochemicals Limited operates in the refrigerants and industrial gases sector, with capabilities in gas processing, blending and distribution. The company serves industries including air conditioning and refrigeration, fire protection, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, automotive and glass manufacturing.

Stallion has built a pan-India forward-integrated manufacturing footprint with facilities at Khalapur and Panvel in Maharashtra, Ghiloth in Rajasthan and Manesar in Haryana. These units focus on debulking, blending and gas processing operations. Additional facilities are currently under development at Mambattu near Sri City in Andhra Pradesh and at Khalapur, Maharashtra.

The proposed HFO plant in Rajasthan represents a strategic expansion that positions Stallion to participate more actively in the evolving global refrigerants market while reinforcing its manufacturing presence in India’s specialty chemicals sector.
