EMAG Launches Advanced UG Grinding Series for Precision Manufacturing
EMAG has unveiled its latest UG grinding series, a breakthrough in precision manufacturing that integrates internal, external, and out-of-round grinding functionalities into a single machine. This innovative series aims to provide flexibility while ensuring maximum dimensional accuracy for various industrial applications.
The UG series comprises four machine sizes with grinding lengths ranging from 400 mm to 1,500 mm. This range allows the machines to accommodate a spectrum of applications, from producing compact precision parts required in toolmaking to handling long shafts used in gear manufacturing.
Key technological features include direct-drive motor spindles capable of up to 11 kW, which ensure low-vibration operation and consistent machining quality. Additionally, the series includes an automatically swiveling B-axis, which positions with a remarkable accuracy of 0.0005 degrees. The integration of AE sensors is a notable advancement, as they can detect contact between the grinding wheel and the workpiece, thus reducing idle times and boosting productivity.
The machines are controlled via the globally recognized FANUC system, which offers broad service availability and a user-friendly, dialogue-oriented interface, further enhancing their appeal to operators worldwide.
