Haveus Aerotech Enters Defence Manufacturing, Expands Aerospace Capabilities in India!

India’s aerospace and defence landscape is witnessing a significant transformation as Gurugram-based MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) specialist Haveus Aerotech formally enters the defence manufacturing sector. The company has recently been listed as a subcontractor with a leading defence public sector enterprise, gaining authorization for the assembly, testing, and non-destructive testing (NDT) of aerospace components and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). This milestone marks Haveus Aerotech’s transition from a service-oriented MRO operator to a strategic contributor within India’s growing defence manufacturing ecosystem.

With this move, Haveus Aerotech aims to insource several critical functions that directly impact aerospace reliability, performance, and safety. By broadening its operational scope to include component assembly and precision testing, the company is positioning itself as an integrated aerospace partner capable of supporting both civil and defence applications. This shift represents a deliberate effort to deepen its technical capabilities and participate in higher value-added segments of the aerospace value chain.

Operating from its headquarters in Gurugram, Haveus Aerotech already maintains a strong presence in major Indian aviation hubs such as New Delhi and Bengaluru. The company has also announced plans to expand to Kolkata and Mumbai, further strengthening its nationwide service and manufacturing network. This expansion aligns with India’s ongoing efforts to develop a self-reliant aerospace and defence manufacturing ecosystem, supported by national initiatives such as “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

According to Chairman and Managing Director Anshul Bhargava, the company’s registration as a subcontractor with a defence PSU represents a defining moment in its journey. He emphasized that the new capabilities in assembly, testing, and NDT will not only enhance the company’s technical expertise but also contribute meaningfully to India’s push for indigenous aerospace production. Bhargava noted that Haveus Aerotech’s move into defence manufacturing reflects its commitment to long-term growth, innovation, and collaboration within the Indian aerospace supply chain.

This development also indicates a broader trend within the industry — where MRO companies are evolving beyond their traditional service boundaries into manufacturing and production-related functions. Such diversification enhances local value addition and supports the national objective of reducing dependency on imported defence components. By integrating advanced testing and manufacturing capabilities, Haveus Aerotech is helping to strengthen the domestic aerospace ecosystem, which is vital for sustaining India’s ambitions in both civil and defence aviation sectors.

As global supply chains continue to shift, India’s growing emphasis on building indigenous capabilities for defence and aerospace production is expected to accelerate. The entry of private players like Haveus Aerotech into manufacturing not only bolsters domestic production capacity but also improves the country’s competitiveness in international aerospace markets.

Haveus Aerotech’s expansion into defence manufacturing thus represents more than a business milestone—it symbolizes a strategic step towards self-reliance, innovation, and technological advancement in India’s aerospace industry.
