India’s AIPL Adopts Trumpf Additive Manufacturing to Cut Costs and Accelerate Production!

Additive Industries Private Limited (AIPL), a leading provider of technical solutions in Bengaluru, India, has partnered with Trumpf India to implement Additive Manufacturing (AM) in its operations. This collaboration aims to reduce development costs and speed up production processes, particularly for prototypes in critical sectors like aerospace and automotive.

Previously relying on traditional subtractive manufacturing methods such as casting, milling, and turning, AIPL faced limitations in design freedom, development lead times, and overall cost, particularly when working with large clients including government bodies. After being introduced to Trumpf’s metal Additive Manufacturing technology, AIPL recognized the potential to improve efficiency and production flexibility.

AIPL selected the TruPrint 3000, a high-performance AM machine capable of manufacturing parts up to 300 mm in diameter and 400 mm in height. This technology has enabled AIPL to improve part quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, particularly for complex aerospace and automotive applications. The TruPrint 3000 is particularly valuable in creating functional parts and customizations, like conformal cooling for the automotive sector, improving manufacturing, and reducing waste.

The machine’s ability to integrate functional features into parts has helped AIPL handle more complex projects and expand its customer base. Venkataswamy, Managing Director of AIPL, highlighted how seamlessly the TruPrint 3000 was integrated into their operations, enabling rapid prototyping, reducing costs, and expanding their business capabilities. The partnership with Trumpf India has strengthened AIPL’s position in the competitive aerospace and automotive sectors, providing high-quality, precise additively manufactured parts that meet stringent industry requirements.
