Formlabs Unveils Form 4L, The Fastest Large-Format SLA 3D Printer!

Formlabs has introduced its latest innovation, the Form 4L and Form 4BL large-format SLA 3D printers, designed to deliver exceptional speed, reliability, and print quality at any scale. Built on the company’s next-generation Low Force Display (LFD) print engine, the Form 4L offers a 99% print success rate and nearly five times the build volume of its predecessor, the Form 4. With print speeds reaching up to 80 mm/hour, this printer is the fastest large-format SLA printer on the market, capable of completing large-scale prints in under six hours. Additionally, the high-volume capacity allows users to produce thousands of small parts daily, with new features like a resin mixer, resin tank, build platform, and resin pumping system that reduce waste by 63% and improve post-processing efficiency. The printer’s 23+ material compatibility options enable a wide range of applications, including biocompatible, durable, flame retardant, and rigid material uses.

Dávid Lakatos, Chief Product Officer at Formlabs, emphasized the significance of the new printer, stating, “Form 4L will enable users to solve bigger problems and bring big ideas to life at lightning-fast speeds, regardless of scale or complexity.”

In addition to launching the Form 4L, Formlabs is opening its platform to give users enhanced control and flexibility with new software tools and pricing structures. Key features include Open Material Mode (OMM), which allows users to experiment with any material with a license, and the Print Settings Editor (PSE), which enables users to fine-tune print settings for optimized performance. API & Integration capabilities allow the printer to connect with various software systems, streamlining the printing process. To make 3D printing more accessible, Formlabs has introduced affordable bulk material pricing, with prices starting at $35 per liter for SLA resin and $45 per kilogram for SLS powders, catering to high-volume users and making the process more scalable.

Max Lobovsky, co-founder and CEO of Formlabs, expressed excitement about the platform’s new capabilities, stating, “Opening our platform is the beginning of a new chapter, where we enable users to help make 3D printing better for everyone.”
