GROB Systems to Host Aerospace Technology Day Featuring Live Machining Demos and Industry Experts!

GROB Systems, Inc., a global leader in manufacturing systems and machine tools, will host an Aerospace Technology Day on November 19, 2024, at its North American headquarters in Bluffton, Ohio. Running from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the event will bring together key industry partners, including Concepts NREC, Emuge-Franken USA, Open Mind Technologies, Seco, and Third Wave Systems, to showcase the latest advancements in aerospace manufacturing technology.

Attendees will experience live machining demonstrations on the GROB G350 5-Axis Universal Machining Center, featuring complex aerospace applications like a blisk and an aluminum structural part. Additionally, an airfoil machining application will be demonstrated on a tandem drive machine, designed for machining long, thin parts by holding them securely at both ends, ensuring maximum stability.

The event will also feature presentations from leading industry experts. Concepts NREC will demonstrate its MAX-PAC CAM software, highlighting advanced programming strategies for turbomachinery applications. Emuge-Franken USA will showcase Circle Segment milling tools, used in conjunction with Open Mind Technologies’ hyperMILL CAM software for the production of aerospace structural components. Seco will demonstrate high-performance end mills designed for cutting tough materials and machining complex parts, while Third Wave Systems will provide insights into tool path optimization through its machining modeling solutions.

In addition to the live demonstrations, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive “Technical Talk” where they can discuss specific aerospace manufacturing challenges with engineers and product specialists from GROB and its partner companies. A tour of GROB’s 400,000 sq. ft. facility, which features vertically integrated manufacturing of machining centers and automation systems, will also be offered.
