Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems UK, based at Corsham and Melksham (HQ), have remained in operation throughout the current crisis by implementing new working methods and safe distancing. Knorr-Bremse design, manufacture and support systems for rail vehicles.

Rail operating companies rely on companies such as Knorr-Bremse so that they can keep trains running and transporting both key workers and essential freight, including medical supplies for the NHS.

Knorr-Bremse wanted to do something in support of the local community through the current crisis and have been utilising their 3D printing technology to produce protective face shields, which they are donating, free of charge, to local care homes.

The face shields have been supplied to care homes in Corsham, Chippenham and Melksham and staff at the homes are understandably grateful for the added protection the face shields provide, for both themselves and for those they are caring for.

The Managing Director of Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems UK, Paul Goodhand, commented, “We are pleased to have been able to adapt our technology and resources to offer support to our local community. We hope our small contribution will make a difference to the safety of both carers and residents in our local care homes during these challenging times.”
