Gold Grip Vices: A Workholding Solution Born on the Shop Floor
By Arthur Field
During a recent visit to Bolton, Ontario, the MTDCNC team met with Jason McMann and Jake Emilio of Gold Grip Vices to learn the story behind a Canadian workholding brand created from a real manufacturing challenge.
While machining large weldments on Toshiba horizontal boring mills at Custom Contract Manufacturing, Jason struggled to find workholding solutions that offered the rigidity, durability, and performance required for heavy-duty applications. Rather than compromise, he designed his own.

What began as a solution for his own shop quickly attracted interest from other manufacturers facing similar challenges, leading to the creation of Gold Grip Vices.
Today, Gold Grip manufactures robust, Canadian-engineered workholding systems designed to handle some of the most demanding machining applications in the industry.
MTDCNC would like to thank Jason, Jake, and the entire Gold Grip team for sharing their journey and showcasing how innovation on the shop floor can evolve into a successful manufacturing business.
