CWIEME Berlin 2025 Set to Launch with Industry-Defining Innovation and Collaboration

Final preparations are underway for CWIEME Berlin 2025, the world’s largest event dedicated to coil winding, electric motors, transformers, and electrical engineering, opening tomorrow at Messe Berlin (3–5 June). This year’s show promises to be the most comprehensive yet, featuring expanded programmes, fresh initiatives, and renewed focus on talent, innovation, and sustainability.

Returning Favourites and New Additions

Among the standout returning features is the Women in Engineering programme, a dedicated platform bringing together women from across the industry to share insights, address challenges, and grow their networks. Also back is Connect@CWIEME, the data-driven matchmaking programme that enabled over 2,800 connections at last year’s event. It helps procurement, engineering, and R&D professionals to efficiently connect with relevant suppliers.

The Future Engineers initiative also returns, aimed at tackling the sector’s talent shortage. It offers tailored sessions on careers, networking and skill-building, plus guided tours and meet-and-greets with leading employers—designed to energise and inform the next generation of engineering professionals.

Global Reach and Regional Innovation

The Country Pavilions are once again a key feature, offering a gateway to connect with influential players from around the world. For the first time, the Swiss Pavilion will debut, showcasing next-generation solutions focused on improving sustainability, resilience, and efficiency across energy infrastructure.

Driving a Zero-Carbon Future

With global decarbonisation efforts accelerating, CWIEME 2025 places a spotlight on shaping electric motor systems for a zero-carbon economy. A major workshop on 3 June will convene the full electric motor value chain—materials providers, manufacturers, end users, policymakers, and academics—to discuss circular economy strategies, energy efficiency, and digital transformation.

Focus on Research and Academic Partnerships

New for 2025 is the Academic Excellence Hub, a dedicated exhibition zone for universities and research centres. This initiative promotes knowledge exchange, research visibility, and career opportunities, connecting academia with the commercial engineering world.

Networking and VIP Experiences

CWIEME Berlin 2025 also places a strong emphasis on community. The Community Welcome Party on opening night will offer attendees a relaxed evening of networking with complimentary food and drinks. Daily Happy Hours at the Beer Garden (4–5 pm) provide further opportunities to unwind and connect.

Two new networking spaces make their debut this year: the C Suite Club, an exclusive forum for executive-level conversations under the Chatham House Rule, and the Power Transmission & Distribution Club, which caters to TSOs, grid operators, and OEMs with specialised content and a private lounge.

As the global electrical engineering community converges in Berlin, CWIEME 2025 is poised to spark dialogue, drive innovation, and shape the future of sustainable energy systems.
