Empire Manufacturing Ltd, a family run British business specialising in precision turned parts, with extensive experience in the industry, pride themselves on providing an unrivalled service using their experience and skills to deliver high quality products. They also pride themselves in supporting our next generation of engineers and with this in mind have recently taken on their newest apprentice, Jordan, bringing their number of apprentices up to four. Director Stuart Wade says 'We’re proud to be training the next generation of engineers and our 4 apprentices are doing really well. Josh has been with us nearly two years and in the picture above he is measuring some parts to within 0.0003 grams (0.3mg) using some very precise weighing scales. He makes these totally unaided on a Star SR10-J sliding head machine. He also operates a Star SR20-RIII which he makes a variety of jobs on. Also we have Alistair who is operating our Leadwell V32i VMC. He is learning to use CADCAM software as well as the principals of setting and operating the VMC. Our two newer recruits are still taking baby steps, but we have no doubt they’ll be up to speed and an important part of the team in no time.'
