Uber has joined forces with Refex Green Mobility to roll out 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs) across key cities in India by 2026. This partnership is a significant step toward Uber’s global commitment to achieving 100% emission-free rides by 2040. The newly deployed EV fleet will serve riders in cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, meeting the growing demand for sustainable transportation options in urban areas.
Refex Green Mobility, a subsidiary of Refex Industries, will provide the electric vehicles under the brand Refex eVeelz. Aditya Kapoor, Head of Supply and Electrification at Uber India and South Asia, highlighted that the collaboration strengthens Uber’s dedication to zero-emission mobility in India, while contributing to the broader goal of a cleaner, greener future for urban transportation.
This collaboration also complements Uber’s existing efforts with Uber Green, which allows riders to request all-electric, zero-emission vehicles in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. With this initiative, Uber and Refex eVeelz are advancing the availability of electric vehicles in India, supporting the transition to a more sustainable transportation ecosystem.
The partnership marks another milestone in Uber’s ongoing expansion in India, where the company now operates in 125 cities and continues to offer a wide range of transportation options. Through this collaboration, Uber is reinforcing its leadership in providing accessible and eco-friendly mobility solutions for millions of people.
