Established in 1992, the Lucknow facility has evolved into one of Tata Motors’ most advanced commercial vehicle manufacturing hubs. Spread across approximately 600 acres, the plant produces a wide range of trucks and buses that meet international standards, including next-generation electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles. With an annual production capacity exceeding one lakh units, the facility plays a crucial role in meeting domestic and global demand.
Beyond manufacturing, the plant has become a hub for inclusive growth and skill development. It supports over 8,000 livelihoods and runs flagship training programmes such as Kaushalya, Lakshya, and Saksham, aimed at equipping youth with industry-relevant skills. Through apprenticeship initiatives and a dual system of training, Tata Motors continues to create pathways for meaningful employment and long-term career development.
The Lucknow facility also stands out for its strong focus on sustainability. It operates as a water-positive plant powered entirely by renewable energy, significantly reducing its environmental footprint. The integration of advanced Industry 4.0 technologies, including automation, robotics, and AI-enabled systems, ensures high standards of safety, efficiency, and quality.
