Tata Electronics has appointed Tim McIntosh as Vice President and Head of Operations and Manufacturing Excellence for its Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test (TSAT) unit in Morigaon, Assam. McIntosh, a seasoned professional with over 30 years of global experience, brings a wealth of expertise in advanced packaging, high-volume manufacturing, and factory startups. His career highlights include overseeing the establishment of Malaysia’s first Advanced Packaging Mega Factory in Penang and transforming Vietnam’s largest Assembly/Test site into a billion-unit facility. Additionally, McIntosh has extensive experience in packaging R&D and process innovation, which will be instrumental in leading the TSAT operations.
Tata Electronics, part of the Tata Group, is setting up the TSAT facility in Morigaon, Assam, as part of its strategic expansion in the semiconductor sector. This facility will focus on semiconductor assembly, packaging, and testing, which are critical steps in the global semiconductor supply chain. The company is actively recruiting skilled professionals for this facility, with a particular emphasis on hiring talent from Southeast Asian countries, including Malaysia and Singapore, both of which are significant players in the global semiconductor market.
As part of its vision to make India a key player in the semiconductor sector, Tata Electronics is ramping up its hiring efforts. The company is recruiting senior engineers, technical leaders, and domain experts in assembly, test, and quality functions. This recruitment drive includes roadshows in key regions, such as Penang and Singapore, aimed at attracting top talent to support the growth of its operations in India.
