Stanley Black & Decker Changes Manufacturing and Logistics Network for Business Transformation

Monday 20 March 2023, 10:39:35 PM

The company is announcing changes to its manufacturing and distribution network, including U.S. site expansions, site transformations into manufacturing centres of excellence, and site consolidation, as part of Stanley Black & Decker’s business transformation strategy, which was launched in 2022. The company is doing this in an effort to optimise its footprint and better serve customers.

As part of this effort, the company says it would stop operations in Fort Worth, Texas and move its operations from Cheraw, South Carolina to Jackson and Gallatin, Tennessee. While creating 80 new employment in Tennessee, these moves will have an impact on 175 employees in the Texas facility and 182 employees in South Carolina.

The Company is committed to offering affected employees choices for employment at other Stanley Black & Decker locations as well as job placement support services in order to ensure a smooth transition.

The current economic climate emphasised the need for adjustments in Stanley Black & Decker’s production and distribution network, and these moves are in line with the transformation strategy intended to produce $2 billion in cost reductions. While achieving operational and service excellence, strategic initiatives assisting the transition will also enable a more concentrated product portfolio and strategic sourcing.

These initiatives will enhance and support Stanley Black & Decker’s core operations, boost financial performance, and enable investments to guarantee long-term, steady growth.
