Servotech Expands into Solar Manufacturing and EV Charging for Global Growth!

Servotech Power Systems, a leading provider of solar energy solutions and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, is making significant moves to strengthen its position in the renewable energy market. The company is expanding its operations with plans to establish manufacturing facilities for solar cells and modules, marking a pivotal step towards backward integration in the solar value chain. This move is also in response to a new mandate from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, which will require domestically produced solar PV cells to be used in government-backed solar projects starting June 1, 2026. The mandate specifically targets solar modules used in government schemes, net-metering programs, and open-access renewable energy initiatives, all of which must source cells from the ministry’s approved list of domestic manufacturers.

Raman Bhatia, founder and managing director of Servotech, discussed the company’s future plans during the India-Global Green Tech Vision Forum 2025, highlighting that capital has already been allocated for solar panel production. “We’re moving forward with plans to begin solar cell manufacturing soon,” he stated, emphasizing the company’s readiness to capitalize on the growing domestic market for solar energy.

In addition to solar manufacturing, Servotech is focused on expanding its renewable energy solutions to rural India, with a goal to impact over two million rural households by providing affordable and sustainable energy. The company is also eyeing the EV charging sector, with plans to establish over 100,000 fast EV charging stations across India in the next five years. To boost its local EV infrastructure efforts, Servotech has partnered with the French firm Watt & Well to jointly develop and manufacture EV charger components in India.

On the international front, Servotech aims to expand its EV charging solutions to Africa and the U.S. To support its global expansion efforts, the company has appointed Errol Musk, global business strategist and father of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, to its Global Advisory Board. This move is expected to provide the strategic insight needed to drive Servotech’s global growth in the renewable energy and EV charging markets.

Through these strategic initiatives, Servotech is positioning itself as a key player in both the Indian and global renewable energy sectors, driving sustainable solutions and infrastructure development in the solar and EV markets.
