Renault Group has officially announced the appointment of Stephane Deblaise as the new Chief Executive Officer for India operations, effective September 1, 2025. With this strategic leadership move, the company underscores its commitment to expanding its footprint in one of the world’s most dynamic and promising automotive markets.
In his new role, Mr. Deblaise will be tasked with driving Renault’s strategic vision in India, overseeing all group entities in the country, and reporting directly to Francois Provost, Renault Group’s Chief of Procurement, Partnerships, and Public Affairs Officer. He will be supported by Venkatram Mamillapalle, the current Managing Director of Renault India Private Limited (RIPL), who will continue to play an important role in corporate affairs and in implementing Renault’s mid-term growth plans.
A seasoned industry professional with over two decades at Renault Group, Deblaise brings with him extensive global experience in engineering, product planning, and operations. A 52-year-old alumnus of Telecom Physique Strasbourg and IFP School, he began his career at Saft Batteries before joining Renault in 2000 as an Advanced Process Engineer. He quickly climbed the ranks, serving in influential roles such as Chief Vehicle Engineer for the Entry Program in Latin America, VP of Product Planning & Programs at Dongfeng-Renault in China, and most recently, CEO of Renault Korea, where he led a transformative modernization of the Busan plant for multi-energy vehicle production.
His proven leadership in diverse international markets positions him well to guide Renault India through a period of renewed focus on competitiveness, electrification, and sustainable mobility. With India being a key part of Renault’s global strategy, Deblaise is expected to play a pivotal role in aligning local innovation with the group’s broader “Renaulution” strategic plan—aimed at reshaping the company into a leader in next-generation mobility solutions.
Renault, known for its pioneering role in electric vehicles across Europe, continues to push the boundaries of automotive innovation. With Deblaise at the helm in India, the company signals a renewed commitment to building a robust, tech-forward, and customer-centric presence in the country—one that leverages India’s engineering talent, evolving market dynamics, and its increasing demand for cleaner, smarter vehicles.
