Panasonic Showcases Autonomous Smart Factory Vision at Productronica India 2026!
Panasonic is accelerating the shift towards intelligent manufacturing with the unveiling of its latest autonomous smart factory solutions at Productronica India 2026. Presented by Panasonic Smart Factory Solutions India, a division of Panasonic Life Solutions India, the showcase highlighted the company’s vision of “Autonomous Factory – Skill-less Operations,” signalling a major step forward in simplifying and digitising modern production environments.
At the event, held at India Expo Mart, Panasonic demonstrated a comprehensive Surface Mount Technology (SMT) ecosystem designed to deliver end-to-end manufacturing efficiency. Central to this showcase were advanced modular placement platforms such as the NPM-GP/L, NPM-GH, and NPM-TT2 machines—each engineered to offer high precision, flexibility, and faster return on investment across varying production scales.
The company went beyond individual machines to present a fully integrated smart factory environment. This included inspection systems from Koh Young, such as Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and Solder Paste Inspection (SPI), alongside TSM reflow ovens and advanced nozzle cleaning and inspection solutions. Together, these technologies demonstrated a seamless, connected manufacturing line capable of delivering consistent quality and operational reliability.
Panasonic’s solutions are tailored for a wide spectrum of industries, including automotive, consumer electronics, telecom, industrial electronics, electronics manufacturing services (EMS), and semiconductors. By combining hardware excellence with software intelligence, the company is enabling OEMs to transition towards smarter, more efficient production models that reduce downtime and improve throughput.
A key highlight of the showcase was Panasonic’s emphasis on software-driven manufacturing. Platforms such as PanaCIM provide real-time traceability, automated changeovers, and production optimisation, while IoT-enabled solutions like MirAIe ProFactory bring predictive analytics and connectivity to the shopfloor. These innovations empower manufacturers to make data-driven decisions, anticipate maintenance needs, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
The featured SMT machines reflect this commitment to performance and adaptability. The NPM-GP/L printer delivers high precision and speed with advanced mask positioning and hybrid squeegee movement, achieving cycle times as low as 12 seconds. The NPM-GH mounter offers an impressive placement speed of up to 55,500 components per hour with ±25-micron accuracy, making it ideal for high-volume production environments. Meanwhile, the NPM-TT2 platform supports high-mix manufacturing with 18,000 CPH throughput, advanced multi-recognition cameras, and dual-lane capability for greater flexibility.
Beyond technology, Panasonic is addressing one of the biggest challenges in manufacturing today—skill dependency. By enabling autonomous, software-led operations, the company is helping manufacturers reduce reliance on manual intervention while improving consistency, scalability, and efficiency. This approach is particularly relevant in a competitive landscape where speed, precision, and cost-effectiveness are critical.
As India continues to strengthen its position as a global manufacturing hub, Panasonic’s latest innovations reinforce its commitment to supporting this growth with world-class, locally relevant solutions. By integrating advanced automation, intelligent software, and connected systems, Panasonic is not just enhancing factory performance—it is shaping the future of manufacturing in India and beyond.
