Mercedes-Benz India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, aiming to bolster India’s startup ecosystem. This strategic partnership seeks to promote innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship by providing startups with access to vital resources, including infrastructure, mentorship, funding, and international market opportunities. The initiative aligns with India’s broader development goals, focusing on road safety, environmental sustainability, and social progress.
Through this collaboration, Mercedes-Benz India will work closely with the Startup India initiative to expand its reach and engage more startups, fostering technological and economic growth within the country. The initiative is designed to support the growth of India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and to accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge technologies across various sectors, particularly in automotive, clean energy, and sustainability.
DPIIT, which operates under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, plays a pivotal role in shaping industrial policy, simplifying regulations, and promoting business-friendly environments for startups and entrepreneurs. The department is actively involved in initiatives such as Startup India and Make in India, which offer critical support to new businesses through funding, mentorship, and policy backing. DPIIT also manages initiatives that protect intellectual property rights and enhance patent filing and enforcement in the country, further encouraging innovation and sustainable business practices.
