Marquardt Strengthens India Operations with New Facility in Talegaon!

Marquardt has inaugurated a state-of-the-art facility in Talegaon, near Pune, as part of its efforts to expand production capacities for mechatronic solutions in the Indian automotive industry. This new plant, which replaces the company’s previous site in Mumbai, marks a significant milestone in Marquardt’s commitment to supporting India’s growth and the “Make in India” initiative.

With an investment of Rs 180 crore, the Talegaon plant will significantly bolster Marquardt’s presence in India and its relationship with leading Indian automotive manufacturers. The facility will focus on producing critical systems such as drive authorisation systems, gear selector switches, and battery management systems for electric vehicles, tapping into the fast-growing automotive sector. The company aims to meet the increasing demand for advanced mechatronic solutions and continue delivering cutting-edge innovations.

According to Björn Twiehaus, CEO of Marquardt Group, “India is a key growth market for Marquardt. With the Talegaon plant, we strengthen our position as a leading supplier of mechatronic systems for the future of mobility.” The plant is expected to create around 300 new jobs by 2030, contributing to local economic growth.

The facility also features advanced assembly lines, in-house electronics production, and logistics capabilities, reinforcing Marquardt’s long-term commitment to local innovation and production. The Talegaon facility will support the company’s global network and play a key role in the company’s India growth strategy. With over 450 employees in Pune, Marquardt has established a strong foothold in India, and this new plant further strengthens its operations in the region.

The grand opening ceremony saw key representatives from the automotive sector, highlighting the plant’s importance to Marquardt’s global success. The new facility not only boosts production but also solidifies Marquardt’s role as a leading player in the future of mobility.
