Lexicon Inc. has announced the appointment of Joe Lehmkuhl as Vice President of Sub-Fabrication, strengthening the company’s leadership team as it continues expanding its steel fabrication and industrial manufacturing operations.
Based in Little Rock, Arkansas, Lexicon is known for its large-scale steel fabrication, construction, and industrial services capabilities supporting sectors such as infrastructure, energy, industrial manufacturing, and commercial construction. The appointment of Lehmkuhl reflects the company’s focus on reinforcing operational expertise and leadership within its fabrication business.
Lehmkuhl brings extensive industry experience in structural steel fabrication and manufacturing management, with a career spanning more than two decades across several major steel fabrication organizations. His return to Lexicon also marks a continuation of a previous association with the company, where he worked from 2004 to 2007 as a sub-fabrication manager for Prospect Steel, a division associated with Lexicon’s fabrication operations.
Prior to rejoining Lexicon, Lehmkuhl served for nearly 20 years as Vice President of Sub-Fabrication at Schuff Steel, one of the largest structural steel fabricators in North America. During his tenure, he gained extensive experience overseeing fabrication operations, production management, project coordination, and large-scale steel manufacturing processes for complex construction and industrial projects.
Before his leadership role at Schuff Steel, Lehmkuhl also spent six years with Havens Steel Co., where he further developed expertise in steel fabrication and manufacturing operations. His broad industry background provides him with deep operational knowledge in fabrication management, production planning, and industrial project execution.
In his new role at Lexicon, Lehmkuhl is expected to support the company’s sub-fabrication operations by driving operational efficiency, production performance, and strategic growth initiatives. His experience managing large fabrication teams and complex manufacturing operations is expected to contribute to Lexicon’s continued expansion and customer support capabilities.
Lexicon operates across multiple industrial sectors and provides services including steel fabrication, construction, erection, maintenance, and industrial manufacturing support. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering complex structural steel and industrial projects throughout the United States.
Lehmkuhl holds a bachelor’s degree in business with a specialization in international marketing from Kansas State University. His combination of business leadership and fabrication industry expertise positions him to play a key role in supporting Lexicon’s operational and strategic objectives moving forward.
The appointment highlights the continued importance of experienced leadership within the steel fabrication industry as manufacturers and industrial contractors increasingly focus on production efficiency, workforce development, and large-scale project execution capabilities. As demand for infrastructure, industrial construction, and manufacturing projects continues to grow, companies are investing in operational expertise to strengthen competitiveness and support evolving customer requirements.
By bringing Joe Lehmkuhl back into the organization, Lexicon aims to further strengthen its fabrication operations while supporting long-term growth across its industrial and construction-focused business segments.
