In a move poised to reshape the manufacturing landscape in the U.S., Kimura Foundry America has announced the strategic acquisition of VIP Tooling, integrating precision machining with advanced casting capabilities to offer a comprehensive, full-service manufacturing solution. This acquisition aligns with Kimura’s long-term strategy to streamline the supply chain, reduce lead times, and improve process control and cost efficiency—especially for key sectors like automotive, energy, and industrial manufacturing.
Both companies are located in close proximity in the Midwest, providing an immediate advantage in terms of logistics, collaboration, and operational integration. While they will continue to function from their respective facilities, their shared geographic location enhances coordination, allowing customers to benefit from faster turnaround times and smoother project execution.
“This acquisition brings together the best of both worlds,” said Michiya Kajiwara, President of Kimura Foundry America. “By combining our cutting-edge 3D-printed casting technology with VIP Tooling’s precision machining expertise, we’re creating an all-in-one solution that simplifies the manufacturing process, accelerates delivery, and enables greater innovation for our clients across the U.S.”
VIP Tooling, known for its high-precision craftsmanship and dedication to customer success, sees the partnership as a natural evolution of its capabilities. Paul Nolting, COO at VIP Tooling, shared his enthusiasm: “Joining forces with Kimura Foundry America allows us to serve our existing clients even better while expanding into new opportunities in advanced manufacturing. We share a commitment to innovation and excellence, which makes this partnership a perfect fit.”
Since the opening of its Shelbyville, Indiana facility in 2018, Kimura Foundry America—a subsidiary of Japan’s Kimura Group, which boasts nearly a century of manufacturing legacy—has been dedicated to delivering fast, flexible, and high-precision casting services. The addition of VIP Tooling enhances Kimura’s ability to deliver consolidated solutions from prototype to production, helping OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers reduce complexity and improve product development timelines.
This acquisition is more than a business deal—it’s a strategic alignment designed to empower U.S. manufacturers with integrated, state-of-the-art production capabilities. By combining their strengths, Kimura and VIP Tooling are paving the way for a smarter, more agile, and more cost-effective future in American manufacturing.
