JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), a global pioneer in sustainable mobility solutions and electric bus manufacturing, made a powerful statement at Busworld 2025 in Brussels with the unveiling of its latest innovation — the ECOLIFE e12, a fully electric city bus engineered to redefine urban transportation. The launch, led by Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of JBM Group, marks a significant milestone for the company as it continues to drive the global shift toward zero-emission mobility.
The ECOLIFE e12 combines advanced engineering with intelligent design. Built with a lightweight, monocoque stainless-steel body, the bus integrates state-of-the-art technologies such as an Intelligent Transport System compliant with EU standards and advanced telematics for real-time vehicle health monitoring. The vehicle features JBM’s proprietary Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS), enhancing on-road safety through intelligent obstacle detection and driver assistance alerts. Safety remains a top priority, with multiple integrated systems including Advanced Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Alert, Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Blind Spot Monitoring, and a comprehensive Fire Detection & Suppression System supported by a 360° camera for all-around visibility.
In his address at the event, Nishant Arya highlighted JBM’s long-term commitment to sustainability and innovation. “Our goal is to decarbonize public transport and set new global standards for sustainable mobility. At JBM EV, we’re shaping the future of green transportation by merging innovation, sustainability, and user-focused design. Our electric mobility solutions aim not just to cut emissions, but to improve quality of life by making transport safer, smarter, and more inclusive,” he said.
Celebrating ten years in the public mobility sector, JBM EV announced its ambitious vision to serve over 20 billion passengers and cover 3 billion electric kilometres in the next three years. This milestone aligns with the company’s strategy to strengthen reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction globally. To support its European expansion, JBM EV has established its regional headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, serving as the hub for marketing, sales, aftersales services, operations, and partnerships across Europe.
Today, JBM operates the world’s largest integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside China, located in India, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 units. The company’s electric fleet — comprising over 11,000 buses deployed or under execution worldwide — has already clocked more than 200 million electric kilometres, transporting one billion passengers and offsetting over one billion kilograms of CO₂ emissions.
At the UITP Summit earlier this year, JBM reaffirmed its sustainability commitment with the launch of its Net Zero 2040 roadmap, aligning closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3, 9, 11, and 13. The company also introduced JBM E-Verse, an integrated EV ecosystem platform developed in India that provides holistic electric mobility solutions.
The JBM E-Verse ecosystem offers end-to-end capabilities including fast-charging infrastructure, high-efficiency lithium-ion batteries, energy management systems, and network support for zero downtime operations. This initiative reinforces JBM EV’s vision to build an interconnected, intelligent, and sustainable e-mobility ecosystem — designed and made in India, for the world.
