Infineon and ARAI Join Forces to Revolutionize Automotive Semiconductor Solutions in India!

Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific and the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the development of semiconductor technologies tailored for the Indian automotive sector. This collaboration will focus on advancing electric vehicle (EV) inverters and vehicle control units, specifically designed for the growing EV market in India. The partnership also aims to increase the adoption of these solutions among Indian automotive manufacturers.

In addition to drivetrain technologies, the partnership will work on the development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving (AD) solutions. These will include essential safety features such as Automated Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and Lane Keep Assist (LKA). The collaboration will also address the rising importance of cybersecurity in connected, software-defined vehicles, ensuring that these solutions remain secure and robust.

Chua Chee Seong, President and Managing Director of Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific, emphasized the value of combining Infineon’s technological expertise with ARAI’s deep market understanding to accelerate innovation and improve the efficiency of automotive semiconductor solutions in India. ARAI’s Deputy Director, Makarand Pathak, highlighted the importance of this partnership in fostering an ecosystem that focuses on safety, reducing emissions, and improving vehicle efficiency tailored to the Indian market.

Founded in 1966, ARAI is a premier R&D body for the Indian automotive industry, playing a key role in advancing automotive technology and standards in the country. Through this partnership, Infineon and ARAI aim to drive the development of cutting-edge, secure, and efficient automotive solutions that meet the specific needs of the Indian market.
