Honda Marks Production of 11 Millionth Vehicle in Canada!

Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM), a division of Honda Canada Inc., has achieved a major production milestone—its 11 millionth vehicle built at the company’s Alliston, Ontario facility. The milestone vehicle, a Rallye Red 2026 Honda Civic Hybrid, underscores Honda’s continued leadership in Canadian automotive manufacturing and its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and local production.

This accomplishment comes just two years after HCM celebrated its 10 millionth vehicle in 2023 and ahead of its 40th anniversary in 2026. It also coincides with the 25th anniversary of Acura MDX production in Alliston, highlighting the facility’s long-standing legacy in Honda’s North American operations.

“11 million cars later, Honda of Canada Mfg. associates and our supply chain partners continue to demonstrate the best in North American manufacturing, thanks to the flexible manufacturing Honda is known for,” said Dave Jamieson, president and CEO of Honda Canada. “Thank you to all our associates, partners, suppliers, and the local Alliston community for being integral to HCM’s legacy. We remain committed to Canada and its robust manufacturing ecosystem, with Ontario’s business-friendly environment continuing to foster our growth and innovation.”

Bobbi Curran, vice-president of Honda of Canada Mfg., added, “Within today’s challenging manufacturing environment, we continue to maintain production to meet the robust demand for the popular CR-V and Civic. HCM and our associates have earned a reputation for quality and leadership within the Honda manufacturing family, and I look forward to celebrating more achievements in the future.”

Established in 1986, Honda of Canada Mfg. was the first Japanese automaker to set up a production facility in Canada, starting with the Honda Accord. Since then, the Alliston plant has played a crucial role in Honda’s North American manufacturing network, serving as the launch facility for models such as the Odyssey, Pilot, Ridgeline, and several Acura vehicles, including the EL, MDX, and ZDX.

Designated as the global lead plant for the Honda Civic in 2015 and currently the lead plant for the sixth-generation Honda CR-V, HCM continues to set benchmarks for manufacturing excellence, flexibility, and sustainability. With this latest milestone, Honda reaffirms its dedication to building vehicles in Canada and supporting the future of advanced automotive manufacturing in North America.
