Hiab, a global leader in on-road load-handling solutions, has announced a €19 million investment to expand and modernise its Multilift demountables production facility in Raisio, Finland. This strategic development will enhance production capabilities, improve energy efficiency, and elevate working conditions — all while maintaining continuous operations at the existing plant.
Scheduled to begin in autumn 2025, the construction will be completed by 2027. The new complex will be built adjacent to the current facility, ensuring no disruption to ongoing manufacturing or administrative functions. The investment is part of Hiab’s total projected capital expenditure of €80 million (excluding acquisitions) for the year.
Hermanni Lyyski, President of Demountables and Defence at Hiab, commented:
“Hiab Multilift is the global leader in demountables, serving both commercial and defence sectors. Expanding the Raisio site marks a significant step forward in our long-term vision. It strengthens our production capacity, supports the well-being of our employees, and aligns with Hiab’s sustainability goals. The current Raisio plant, built between the late 1970s and early 1980s, has been part of the local community since the 1950s — and this investment ensures it remains a state-of-the-art facility for decades to come.”
The project includes the development of energy-efficient solutions to reduce operational emissions, as well as a modern showroom to showcase Hiab’s latest technologies. It follows major upgrades made in 2024, including a comprehensive layout transformation and the adoption of Hiab’s advanced factory production model.
Hiab is active in more than 100 countries and operates through a network of 3,000 own and partner sales and service locations across every continent. With continuing operations generating approximately €1.6 billion in sales in 2024 and employing over 4,000 people globally, the company remains committed to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.
This latest investment underscores Hiab’s dedication to continuous improvement and its strong commitment to both local and global customers in the on-road load-handling sector.
