Henkel Strengthens India’s Electronics Sector with New Engineering Center and Manufacturing Plant!

Henkel has made significant investments in India with the opening of an Application Engineering Centre in Chennai and a new adhesive manufacturing plant in Kurkumbh. These expansions are aimed at supporting India’s rapidly growing electronics industry, enhancing local production, and fostering innovation.

The newly inaugurated Application Engineering Centre in Chennai spans 17,000 sq ft and will focus on accelerating product development for consumer electronics. The centre houses five specialized labs that concentrate on adhesive solutions and thermal management materials, designed to enhance the durability and performance of products like smartphones and wearables.

In addition to the engineering centre, Henkel is establishing a new adhesive materials manufacturing plant in Kurkumbh near Pune. The plant is set to produce high-performance adhesive and coating solutions, further reinforcing Henkel’s commitment to innovation and local manufacturing. The integration of smart factory technologies will aim to optimize operational efficiency and product quality at the new facility.

S Sunil Kumar, Country President for Henkel India, emphasized the company’s commitment to India’s “Make in India” initiative, noting that these new facilities will enhance the country’s self-sufficiency and supply chain resilience. This development will also enable Henkel to serve its global customers more effectively.

The expansions align with the Indian government’s efforts to make the country a global manufacturing hub, particularly in the electronics sector. Henkel’s continued investments solidify its role as a key partner in India’s growing electronics ecosystem.
