Godrej & Boyce Enhances Indigenous Aerospace Manufacturing with ADA Collaboration at Aero India 2025!

At Aero India 2025 in Bengaluru, Godrej & Boyce’s Aerospace division has further solidified its commitment to India’s aerospace industry by signing several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening the nation’s self-reliance in aerospace manufacturing. One of the key agreements is with the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), focusing on the production of flight control actuators for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program.

This new collaboration builds on an established two-decade-long partnership between Godrej and ADA, during which the companies have successfully developed components for flight-critical servo actuators. Under the latest MoU, Godrej will take responsibility for the full development cycle of these actuators, including precision manufacturing, sourcing aerospace-grade materials, assembly, testing, and creating test rigs for the qualification process.

Godrej is also advancing from traditional ‘Built to Print’ capabilities to more sophisticated ‘Built to Spec’ manufacturing, leveraging modern technologies like 3D printing to improve design and production efficiency. This innovative approach allows for the production of complex components in a single process, significantly reducing the number of traditional production stages and enhancing operational efficiency.

At the Aero India 2025 event, Godrej showcased its diverse aerospace manufacturing capabilities. The display included advanced aero engine components such as fans, compressors, turbines, and shafts made from exotic materials, alongside precision-engineered tubes, ducts, and brackets. The company also featured indigenously manufactured Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) like actuators, nose-wheel steering manifolds, lubrication pumps, and uplocks. Additionally, a working model of an Ejector Release Unit (ERU) for aircraft pylons and various carbon fiber composite parts designed for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) were on display, demonstrating Godrej’s extensive expertise in the sector.

Maneck Behramkamdin, Senior Vice President and Business Head of Godrej Aerospace, expressed, “This partnership exemplifies our commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat in the aerospace sector. We are proud to be at the forefront of India’s aerospace revolution, turning the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat into a reality through cutting-edge engineering and precision manufacturing. We continue to enable and elevate India’s manufacturing capabilities and global competitiveness.”

This strategic collaboration and Godrej’s continuous innovation mark significant milestones in India’s journey towards becoming a self-reliant leader in the global aerospace industry.
