FOTON Motor and COSCO SHIPPING Form Joint Venture to Strengthen Global Automotive Logistics!
FOTON Motor has partnered with COSCO SHIPPING Special Transport to establish Guangzhou Yuanfu Automotive Supply Chain Co., Ltd., marking a major step toward building an integrated global logistics ecosystem for automotive exports.
The joint venture was officially launched on March 26, accompanied by the delivery of a dedicated roll-on/roll-off vessel and the dispatch of an initial shipment of 600 FOTON pickup trucks to South America. This milestone signals a shift in FOTON’s international strategy, moving beyond traditional export models toward a more integrated, system-driven global expansion approach.
By combining FOTON’s large-scale vehicle production capabilities with COSCO SHIPPING’s extensive maritime logistics network, the partnership aims to create a more efficient and resilient supply chain. The collaboration is designed to improve control over shipping operations, reduce dependency on external logistics providers, and enhance delivery reliability across global markets.
FOTON Motor has consistently ranked among the leading exporters of Chinese commercial vehicles, maintaining its position for 15 consecutive years. In 2025 alone, the company recorded overseas sales of 164,500 units, bringing its cumulative exports to more than 1.25 million vehicles across over 140 countries and regions. This scale of operations underscores the need for a more robust and integrated logistics framework.
The new venture is also intended to address ongoing challenges in global trade, including fluctuating freight costs and unpredictable delivery timelines.
