Fair Friend Group (FFG) has announced a comprehensive strategic realignment aimed at addressing the current global challenges in the machine tool industry and strengthening its competitive position. This transformation marks a significant milestone for FFG as it seeks to enhance its market presence and drive innovation across its global operations.
As a cornerstone of this strategic shift, FFG has appointed Dr. Sebastian Schöning as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Dr. Schöning, who holds a PhD in mechanical engineering, brings over two decades of professional and management experience to his new role. Since 2021, he has served as the Group’s Chief Operating Officer and CEO of MAG IAS GmbH, demonstrating his capability in leading complex operations and driving organizational growth. In his capacity as CEO, Dr. Schöning will spearhead the development of global strategies and oversee the group’s operations, ensuring that FFG remains at the forefront of the machine tool industry. Supporting him in this endeavor will be Ms. Rong-Rong Liu, the newly appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO), who will oversee the group’s financial management and contribute to its strategic financial planning.
A pivotal element of FFG’s realignment strategy is the enhanced leveraging of synergies among its globally operating companies. This approach will enable FFG to offer customers more integrated and customized solutions, thereby meeting the diverse and evolving needs of the manufacturing sector. Additionally, FFG plans to expand its portfolio of standard machines and develop new technologies in emerging industries such as humanoid robotics and energy. By deeply integrating artificial intelligence (AI), smart manufacturing, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, FFG aims to ensure future-oriented and environmentally friendly production processes. These initiatives will provide customers with a wide range of highly specialized machines and manufacturing systems, allowing them to respond flexibly to both regional and global market demands.
Dr. Sebastian Schöning expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, “Our clear vision, strong management team, and relentless drive to help our customers succeed are the keys to future growth. With the measures we are now implementing, we are ideally positioned to further expand FFG’s market presence in the global machine tool industry.” Jimmy Chu, Founder and Chairman of FFG, echoed this optimism, adding, “I have complete confidence that under the leadership of Dr. Sebastian Schöning and Rong-Rong Liu, FFG will play a leading role in innovative technologies and achieve its goals.”
The strategic realignment was prominently featured at the International Exhibition for Metalworking (AMB) 2024 held in September, where FFG emphasized its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and an enhanced global presence under the theme “Let’s Start the Journey.” This event underscored FFG’s dedication to advancing its technological capabilities and expanding its influence within the global machine tool industry.
