Emmvee, a prominent player in India’s solar manufacturing sector, has inaugurated its fifth solar module manufacturing facility in Sulibele, near Bengaluru International Airport, Karnataka. This new expansion marks a significant milestone for the company, which now boasts a total capacity of 6.6 GWp in PV modules and 2.5 GWp in solar cells.
The new facility spans an impressive 400,000 square feet and is expected to accommodate more than 500 new employees, including engineers, senior management, factory operators, and administrative personnel. With this expansion, Emmvee is further strengthening its commitment to India’s renewable energy goals, playing an integral role in boosting solar manufacturing self-reliance in the country.
D V Manjunatha, Chairman and Managing Director of Emmvee, expressed his enthusiasm about the facility’s opening, saying, “This is yet another step in the company’s dedication to supporting India’s renewable energy goals and achieving solar manufacturing self-reliance.” The new plant will enable Emmvee to better serve its customers by increasing its production capacity, which will in turn meet the growing demand for solar modules both domestically and internationally.
Suhas Donthi, President and CEO of Emmvee, highlighted the technological advancements the new facility brings, stating, “The new facility will bolster our production capacity, enabling us to better service our customers. We are not merely increasing capacity but also enhancing our technological advancements and business operations. The unit is designed with advanced automation, multiple levels of quality control, and is versatile enough to produce different module sizes and formats.”
India’s solar power industry is growing rapidly, with an installed capacity of 105.65 GW. Solar power plays a central role in India’s transition to cleaner, non-fossil fuel-based energy sources, and Emmvee’s expanded manufacturing capacity is a critical contribution to this transformation. The new facility positions Emmvee to meet the increasing demand for solar energy solutions, advancing the country’s renewable energy infrastructure and helping India achieve its long-term sustainability objectives.
