DMG MORI and Haimer Strengthen Global Partnership to Drive Toolroom Digitization and Automation!
By Ashutosh Arora
DMG MORI Co. Ltd. and Haimer GmbH have expanded their long-standing strategic partnership, marking a major step toward fully digitized, automated and globally connected toolroom operations. The enhanced collaboration now includes the integration of Haimer’s “Tool Room of the Future” across DMG MORI’s worldwide facilities, along with a joint international software distribution agreement aimed at transforming how manufacturers manage tooling, automation and data-driven workflows.
As part of the expanded agreement, Haimer’s latest machining transformation (MX) and digital transformation (DX) technologies will be incorporated into the DMG MORI Qualified Products (DMQP) portfolio for global resale. This includes advanced shrink-fit, balancing and presetting machines, as well as a comprehensive suite of digital tools that support smart manufacturing. The integration aligns with DMG MORI’s strategy to deliver complete process solutions, ensuring customers have access to tightly connected physical and digital platforms that increase precision, efficiency and uptime on the shop floor.
Dr. Masahiko Mori, president of DMG MORI Co. Ltd., emphasized the importance of the partnership, noting that the combination of Haimer’s high-precision tooling and automation solutions with DMG MORI’s machine ecosystem will accelerate the rollout of digital-twin connectivity. This seamless integration enables manufacturers to achieve higher levels of process transparency, reduced setup times and improved machining accuracy. With full access to Haimer technologies through DMG MORI’s global network, customers can integrate these advanced solutions at the point of machine tool investment, with financing options available.
From Haimer’s perspective, the partnership elevates their global reach and reinforces their push for Industry 4.0-enabled toolroom solutions. Haimer President Andreas Haimer highlighted the significance of deploying the “Tool Room of the Future” concept across DMG MORI facilities. This framework connects Haimer’s i4.0-enabled presetting, shrinking and balancing systems with digital tool and data management platforms such as WinTool, Tool Room Manager and the Toolbase smart vending system. Together, these solutions allow every tool assembly step to be digitally tracked, verified and synchronized, simplifying reordering, calibration and workflow optimization. Digital twins generated in WinTool further support seamless communication between software and machines.
The partnership also enables widespread deployment of Haimer technologies at DMG MORI’s major hubs, including Tokyo; Iga, Japan; Pfronten, Germany; and additional international locations. These facilities will become reference centers for fully integrated tooling ecosystems, demonstrating best practices for automation, process control and predictive maintenance. The collaboration builds on real-world customer success stories, such as Japanese manufacturers who reported spindle life extensions of up to 300% after adopting Haimer balancing systems, and automotive plants that significantly improved accuracy and reduced calibration needs using Haimer’s Microset presetting machines.
With this expanded agreement, DMG MORI and Haimer aim to set new benchmarks for global manufacturing efficiency. Their combined offerings provide customers with a unified ecosystem that seamlessly connects machine tools, tooling workflows, automation systems and digital software—supporting smarter, faster and more reliable production across industries.
