Celebrating Success: The First Anniversary of BLM GROUP’s LT12 Tube Laser!

BLM GROUP USA proudly marks the first anniversary of its LT12 tube laser’s global launch, a machine that has garnered acclaim for addressing a significant market need. Designed to support fabricators processing a diverse range of materials, the LT12 stands out by accommodating larger weight capacities, diameters, and lengths compared to its predecessor, the LT8.20. The development of the LT12 was driven by customer feedback, ensuring it meets the evolving demands of the industry and enhances shop floor versatility.

Lorenzo Carminato, Business Development Manager at BLM GROUP USA, explained that the LT12 integrates a variety of technologies, allowing it to efficiently handle virtually all tube types and open profiles. This feature is particularly valuable for customers who previously utilized smaller tube lasers and now seek to process larger materials, thereby increasing operational efficiency in sectors such as agricultural equipment and light structural components. The LT12 exemplifies BLM GROUP’s commitment to continuous improvement through customer collaboration.

The LT12 introduces several enhancements aimed at maximizing quality and efficiency. Retaining popular features from the LT8.20, such as Active Scan and Active Weld for compensating material imperfections and weld seams, the LT12 also boasts a Scrap Efficiency Mode that minimizes material waste to just 4.5 inches. Additionally, the machine includes universal support templates that securely clamp tubes, preventing inaccuracies during processing. The Active Scan technology distinguishes the LT12 from competitors by allowing rapid measurement and compensation for material inconsistencies, achieving results significantly faster than traditional methods.

The LT12’s capabilities extend to drilling and tapping, eliminating the need for secondary processes and streamlining operations. This versatility has enabled one customer to replace five manual machines for aluminum extrusions, freeing up personnel to focus on other projects. Since its prototype debut in July 2022 and subsequent market introduction in September 2023, the LT12 has found numerous installations across North America, with expectations for continued growth and innovation in the coming years.
