Burkert Fluid Control Systems India Private Limited has recently inaugurated a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra. This facility represents a significant investment in Burkert’s global operations, strategically positioned to meet the increasing demand for system solutions and components in the region.
Located in the Talegaon MIDC, Phase 2 industrial area, the 50,000-square-foot facility is equipped with modern machining tools, assembly lines, and testing centers. The plant has the capacity to manufacture up to 500 systems and over 30,000 valves annually. The new unit is expected to enhance Burkert’s service delivery by bringing production closer to its Indian clients, thereby improving lead times and customer service. Initially, the facility will focus on producing Mass Flow Controllers, Angle Seat Valves, Diaphragm Valves, and System Solutions, with plans to gradually expand its production capabilities.
Burkert’s CEO, Georg Stawowy, emphasized the importance of local manufacturing in serving clients more efficiently, stating that the company aims to provide tailored systems and solutions to meet individual client requirements. Sadiq Khan, Managing Director of Burkert Fluid Control Systems India, hailed the new plant as a significant milestone, marking it as the third manufacturing facility outside Europe for the company, dedicated to producing top-tier control and monitoring equipment.
By the end of the year, the Talegaon facility is expected to employ around 32 people, with plans to expand the workforce to 100 by next year. Burkert has already begun transferring its specialized technologies to India, including advanced systems like Zone 1 ATEX classification panels. The company anticipates that the facility will be profitable by 2028, with local manufacturing playing a key role in achieving long-term profitability goals.
Globally, Burkert employs approximately 3,700 people and boasts an annual turnover of over 710 million EUR. The company dedicates 6.9% of its earnings to research and development, continuously innovating to meet the demands of its clients. In India, Burkert serves well-known industrial players such as Zydus, Alembic, Sun Pharma, Biocon, Bharat Biotech, and Serum Institute, cementing its position as a significant player in the nation’s industrial sector.
