Boson Cell Drives India’s Push for Locally Made Lithium Energy Solutions!

Boson Cell, India’s first homegrown lithium cell manufacturer, has unveiled two new high-performance battery variants: the 18350 B-30A and the 21700 B-50A. These innovations are designed to support India’s transition to sustainable, self-reliant energy systems, aligning with the country’s growing ambition to reduce reliance on imported energy solutions. The launch comes at a time when the government is heavily investing in clean technology through initiatives such as the FAME II Scheme, the PLI Scheme, and Drone Shakti, positioning Boson Cell as a key player in India’s energy manufacturing ecosystem.

With the Indian lithium-ion battery market expected to reach $9.56 billion by 2030, Boson Cell’s products cater to expanding sectors like electric mobility, consumer devices, renewable energy systems, and drone technology. As the demand for energy storage solutions grows, Boson’s locally manufactured batteries aim to provide reliable, cost-effective, and scalable alternatives to imported options. “Our aim is to provide energy solutions that match the evolving needs of modern industries while staying rooted in quality and innovation,” said Guru Punghavan, CEO of Boson Cell. “We’re not just replacing imported batteries—we’re building high-efficiency, locally manufactured cells for everything from electric vehicles to household tools.”

The new products come in three distinct categories—Economy, Advanced, and Extreme—each designed for specific use cases and scale requirements. Every battery undergoes rigorous testing to ensure consistent performance and safety, meeting the diverse needs of industries ranging from electric vehicles (EVs) and drones to solar power installations and power tools. This versatility positions Boson’s batteries as crucial for India’s energy infrastructure and sustainable growth.

Boson Cell’s entry into the market also coincides with the rapid expansion of India’s drone industry, projected to reach $13 billion by 2030. As drones increasingly find applications in agriculture, defense, logistics, and infrastructure, Boson’s compact, energy-dense batteries are well-suited to meet the growing demands of these sectors.

Manufactured with a sustainability-first approach, Boson’s cells offer an eco-conscious alternative without compromising on performance. The company also addresses critical supply chain challenges by offering affordable pricing, shorter lead times, smaller minimum order quantities, and faster delivery. This customer-centric approach ensures that industries can access high-quality, locally manufactured energy solutions quickly and efficiently.

Currently, Boson products are available in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh through a network of retail stores, supermarkets, and local outlets. Additionally, the products can be purchased online through platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, and Boson’s own direct-to-consumer website. As India continues its push toward self-reliance in energy production, Boson Cell’s innovative solutions are positioned to play a pivotal role in powering the future of the nation’s electric and renewable energy ecosystems.
