AM/NS India Unveils High-Grade Colour-Coated Steel Products to Boost Infrastructure Development!

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has introduced two advanced colour-coated steel products—Optigal® Prime and Optigal® Pinnacle—designed to cater to the growing needs of India’s infrastructure sector. These products are part of AM/NS India’s efforts to expand its presence in the rapidly developing construction market, offering high-performance, corrosion-resistant steel that adheres to European standards. With this launch, AM/NS India becomes the first domestic producer to offer high-end, C4-grade steel products specifically engineered for major infrastructure applications such as airports, railway stations, highways, and commercial buildings. The Indian colour-coated steel market, which is currently estimated at 3.4 million tonnes, is growing at an annual rate of around 10%, and AM/NS India is targeting a 25% market share in the next two to three years with the introduction of these new products.

Optigal® Prime is designed for urban and moderately corrosive environments, making it an ideal choice for general construction, roofing, and cladding applications. This product comes with a robust 15-year warranty and offers a range of finish options, including Silicon Modified Polyester (SMP), Super Durable Polyester (SDP), and PVDF coatings. Optigal® Prime is specifically suited for use in urban buildings, commercial properties, and other infrastructure projects that require durable and aesthetically pleasing materials. On the other hand, Optigal® Pinnacle, the higher-spec version, is intended for more demanding environments such as industrial and coastal regions. This version provides an impressive 25-year warranty and incorporates advanced PU/PA coatings, which offer superior resistance to humidity, UV radiation, and temperature extremes, making it ideal for use in airports, warehouses, seafront buildings, and other structures exposed to harsh conditions.

The new products feature Zinc-Aluminium-Magnesium coating technology, which provides corrosion resistance up to three times greater than standard coatings. This ensures that the products deliver long-lasting durability and maintain high performance over the lifespan of infrastructure projects. In addition to the standard offerings, AM/NS India is providing six variants of the Optigal® range, which include High Gloss, Anti-Dust, Anti-Graffiti, Anti-Static, Anti-Microbial, and Cool Roof versions. Each of these variants is designed to address specific performance needs, whether it’s reducing static buildup, protecting against graffiti stains, or enhancing energy efficiency through heat-reflective surfaces.

Manufactured at AM/NS India’s advanced facility in Pune, Maharashtra, the company currently has an annual capacity of 700,000 tonnes for colour-coated steel, with plans to increase this capacity to one million tonnes in the near future. This expansion is part of AM/NS India’s strategy to capture a larger share of India’s growing market for advanced steel products. In alignment with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, the new products are designed with environmental sustainability in mind. They are free from heavy metals and hexavalent chromium, feature low VOC emissions, and are fully recyclable, making them an eco-friendly option for modern infrastructure projects.

Ranjan Dhar, Director and VP of Sales & Marketing at AM/NS India, emphasized that the introduction of Optigal® Prime and Pinnacle is part of the company’s strategy to meet the evolving needs of the construction industry. He stated, “These products represent a leap forward in delivering high-quality, sustainable steel solutions for critical infrastructure projects.” With the ongoing development of India’s infrastructure, AM/NS India’s Optigal® range is poised to become a key player in shaping the future of the nation’s built environment by offering durable, sustainable, and high-performance materials for large-scale projects.
