Title: ZF North America Embraces Electrification with Hybrid and EV Production Expansion

Gray Court, South Carolina, June 28, 2024 – ZF North America is at the forefront of the automotive industry’s transformation towards electrification, as highlighted by Vaden Lillard, Director of Operations. The central challenge, according to Lillard, is navigating the “challenge of transformation” and determining “when is electrification coming?”

ZF North America’s Gray Court facility, a Tier One supplier, has been a key player in manufacturing transmissions for internal combustion engines (ICEs) for the past 12 years, catering to both passenger cars and commercial trucks. The facility is now undergoing a significant transition. While continuing to produce ICE transmissions, ZF North America is also expanding its production capabilities to include systems for hybrid vehicles. Furthermore, the company is positioning itself to meet the demands of the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) market with innovative products such as full electric vehicle drives (EVDs) and reducer gears.

This strategic move underscores ZF North America’s commitment to leading the charge in automotive electrification, ensuring a seamless transition for the industry and its customers as it moves towards a more sustainable future.
