The first of a series of exclusive videos following the path of a Starrag Heckert X40 horizontal machining centre-based flexible manufacturing system for the high-speed production of actuator components for Boeing 737 and 767 landing gear at Boeing Sheffield. The machines are seen in final assembly at Starrag’s Chemnitz site in Germany ready for dispatch to the aerospace giant’s new manufacturing plant in Yorkshire.
