From Garage Startup to a 5-Star CNC Success: The Inspiring Story of CNC Center Northeim

This week, MTDCNC had the privilege of visiting CNC Center Northeim GmbH, a family-built business in Germany that’s nothing short of extraordinary. Founded in 2008 by Viktor Salwasser and Oxana, this company has grown from a humble garage operation into a thriving precision machining business, now home to 18 SPINNER CNC machines — and it’s still growing.

What makes this story even more remarkable is the personal journey behind the company. Viktor and Oxana launched their business while raising two young children, balancing life, love, and a passion for manufacturing with rare determination. Their facility today is not only a state-of-the-art machine shop — it’s also their home, designed around the work they love.

Viktor’s dedication to the craft is unmatched. We were told he’ll often wake in the middle of the night with an idea, head downstairs to the workshop, and begin refining it on the spot. But what really sets him apart is how he leads: every single morning, he personally checks in with each team member to make sure they feel supported, valued, and focused. That level of care isn’t common — and it shows in the culture of the business.

Viktor also has an inspiring long-term vision. He spoke with us about his 10- and 20-year plans for the company — and given what he and Oxana have already built, there’s little doubt they’ll bring it to life.
