GROB Machine Tools UK Ltd has announced the successful completion of the first training phase for its inaugural group of apprentices. Over a rigorous six-week period, the apprentices have honed foundational skills pivotal to their future in the manufacturing industry. Divided into two groups, half focused on electrical training whilst the other half delved into mechanical skills.

The programme included a comprehensive curriculum where electrical apprentices mastered wiring, PLCs, and circuit building. Meanwhile, their mechanical counterparts developed abilities in print reading, machining, and hands-on fabrication. The training culminated in a unique team-building challenge designed to apply these new skills in a collaborative environment.

During the challenge, the apprentices shared their knowledge with each other. Mechanical trainees guided the fabrication of aluminium parts, while the electrical team facilitated the construction of circuits. This hands-on experience involved creating systems with switches, relays, and PLCs to power motors, culminating in the raising of victory flags—a symbolic completion of their first learning phase.

This training initiative not only focused on technical expertise but also emphasised the importance of teamwork, confidence, and peer education. GROB Machine Tools UK Ltd recognises the value of fostering an environment where apprentices learn both from instructors and from each other, building a strong foundation for their careers.

GROB Machine Tools UK Ltd is committed to developing skilled professionals through comprehensive training programmes, supporting the UK’s manufacturing sector with expertise and innovation.
