Epson has strengthened its commitment to India’s rapidly growing manufacturing sector with the launch of its latest industrial robotics portfolio at Automation Expo Mumbai 2026. The new lineup includes the high-performance CX-A Series 6-axis robots, the next-generation LS-C Series SCARA robots, the RC+ 8.0 robot programming software, and SafeSense advanced safety technology. Together, these solutions are designed to help manufacturers accelerate automation adoption while improving productivity, precision, flexibility, and workplace safety across a wide range of industrial applications.

The launch comes at a time when India’s manufacturing industry is undergoing a significant transformation driven by increasing investments in automation, smart factories, and digital manufacturing. As companies strive to improve production efficiency, overcome labour shortages, and remain globally competitive, industrial robots are becoming an essential part of modern manufacturing operations. Epson’s latest robotics portfolio has been developed to support these evolving requirements by offering manufacturers intelligent automation solutions capable of delivering higher performance with greater operational flexibility.

Leading the new portfolio is the CX-A Series, Epson’s latest range of advanced 6-axis industrial robots. Designed for high-precision manufacturing environments, the CX-A Series delivers exceptional motion control, accuracy, and repeatability, making it well suited for complex automation tasks that require multiple degrees of freedom. These robots are capable of handling intricate manufacturing processes such as precision assembly, pick-and-place operations, component handling, parts transfer, and machine tending, where consistent performance and high positioning accuracy are critical to maintaining product quality and production efficiency.

Complementing the 6-axis robots is the LS-C Series SCARA robot range, which has been engineered to deliver faster cycle times and increased throughput for high-speed assembly and material handling applications. SCARA robots are widely recognised for their compact footprint, exceptional speed, and outstanding repeatability, making them ideal for electronics manufacturing, automotive component production, consumer goods assembly, medical devices, and precision engineering. By reducing cycle times while maintaining consistent accuracy, the LS-C Series enables manufacturers to increase production capacity and optimise overall manufacturing efficiency.

Supporting the hardware is Epson’s RC+ 8.0 robot programming software, an integrated platform that simplifies robot programming, system configuration, monitoring, and management. The software provides manufacturers with a user-friendly environment for developing automation programs, commissioning robotic systems, and managing production operations from a single interface. Simplified programming and intuitive system management reduce implementation time, allowing manufacturers to deploy automation solutions more quickly while lowering engineering complexity and improving operational flexibility.

Another key highlight of the launch is Epson’s SafeSense technology, which has been developed to enable safer collaboration between robots and human operators. Traditional industrial robots often require extensive physical guarding and dedicated safety barriers to protect workers from moving machinery. SafeSense incorporates advanced safety functions that allow robots to operate more safely alongside personnel, reducing the need for complex external safety measures while maintaining high productivity. This capability supports the growing trend towards collaborative manufacturing environments where human workers and automation systems operate together more efficiently.

The combined portfolio addresses a wide variety of manufacturing applications, including pick-and-place operations, precision assembly, material handling, parts transfer, packaging, and machine automation. These capabilities make the new robotics solutions suitable for industries such as automotive, electronics, semiconductor manufacturing, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, food processing, and general industrial manufacturing, where automation plays an increasingly important role in maintaining productivity and quality standards.

Epson brings more than four decades of expertise to the industrial robotics market, having accumulated over 40 years of experience in robotic automation and installed more than 200,000 robotic arms worldwide. This extensive global experience has enabled the company to develop highly reliable robotic solutions focused on improving operational efficiency, reducing production costs, and supporting manufacturers as they transition towards smart factory environments.

Commenting on the launch, Siva Kumar, Senior General Manager, Sales and Marketing at Epson India, highlighted the country’s growing importance as a global manufacturing destination. He noted that automation will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Indian manufacturing and emphasised that Epson’s new industrial robot lineup and RC+ 8.0 platform are designed to provide the speed, precision, and intelligence manufacturers require to compete in an increasingly dynamic global marketplace. He reaffirmed Epson India’s commitment to helping businesses accelerate automation adoption while building smarter, more agile, and globally competitive manufacturing operations.

The introduction of Epson’s latest robotics portfolio at Automation Expo Mumbai 2026 reinforces the company’s long-term automation strategy in India. By combining advanced 6-axis robots, high-speed SCARA systems, intelligent programming software, and innovative safety technologies, Epson is providing manufacturers with a comprehensive automation ecosystem designed to improve productivity, enhance operational flexibility, and support the continued evolution of India’s manufacturing industry toward a more connected and automated future.
